Vice President Venkaiah Naidu interacts with tri-Services officers in Tamil Nadu
Vice President M.Venkaiah Naidu asked the Defence Forces to be always on the alert to thwart any challenges that may be faced by the country. He interacted with the tri-Services officers who are undergoing training in the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington near Ooty in Tamil Nadu today. Mr Naidu said India has always been promoting peace and tranquillity in the region adding, it has never invaded any country anytime.
Stressing that the country’s guiding principle has always been the welfare of all, in the principle of ‘Vasu Dhaiva Kutumbaham,’ he said the nation will give a fitting reply if it is faced with any adventurous action by any external forces.
He said the defence strategies need to be always honed up keeping in pace with the technological advances and the changing security environment. He said there are rapid advances in technology areas like drones and robotics.
The Vice President said India is united in spirit despite having a rich linguistic, religious and regional diversity. He said India gives importance to self-reliance in defence production in the spirit of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
He also said terrorism and climate change are areas that pose serious threats to humanity, against which the Defence Forces should devise strategies. He lauded the defence personnel for the stellar role played by them during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
