Union Minister Bhupender Yadav says ESIC committed to serve poor

Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav has exhorted Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) to focus on fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Swasthya Se Samridhi’ by bridging the gap between Policy and execution.

He stressed that ESIC should work towards the collective goal of welfare of the poor and through capacity building at individual and institutional level.

Addressing the two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ organized by ESIC at Surajkund in Haryana, Mr Yadav said that the reforms in ESIC service delivery mechanism have started through a series of pro-worker initiatives and ESIC is committed to serve the poor in a big way.

AIR correspondent reports that several topics related to ESI Coverage and Medical Education, Capacity Building and Motivation, Infrastructure, Coordination and Preventive Health and Occupational Diseases were discussed during the first day of the Chintan Shivir.

Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli and several senior officials of the ministry were also present in the program.
