Union Minister Bhupender Yadav says continuance of life on earth depends on conservation of the oceanic resources

Union Minister for environment, forest and climate change Bhupender Yadav has said that the continuance of life on earth depends on the conservation of the oceanic resources.
 
Inaugurating a two- day National Conference on Sustainable Coastal Management in India at Bhubaneswar in Odisha today the Union Minister emphasized on coastal resilience, preservation of marine bio-diversity and climate mitigation in view of the looming threat of climate change.
 
Stating that climate change has begun to directly impact our lives, the Minister said we must pledge ourselves to make the oceans pollution free, including plastic pollution to protect the marine ecosystem. He reminded the gathering about the deep imprints oceans have made in almost every aspect of our national ethos- be it religion, science, art and literature.
 
The two days’ National Conference which sees participants from all the 13 coastal states of the country, was also addressed  by the Union Minister of state for environmental forest and climate change Ashwini Kumar Choubey among others.
