Union Home Minister Amit Shah presides over 23rd Central Zonal Council Meeting in Bhopal

In Madhya Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the Bhopal campus of the National Forensic Sciences University. He is on a day-long visit to Bhopal. Earlier, addressing a 23rd Central Zonal Council Meeting at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre at Bhopal today, Mr Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made continuous efforts to strengthen government federalism. This has led to increased coordination between the Centre and State Governments.

Mr Shah informed that a total of 30 issues were discussed in the last meeting held in Raipur, out of which 26 issues have been resolved. This is an example of the success of such meetings. He said that the speed of resolution of problems has increased due to the continuous meetings of the Inter-State Council and the states are also adopting each other’s good efforts.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Uttrakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the meeting while Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel virtually took part in this meeting who could not reach the state capital due to bad weather. The Union Home Minister will also inaugurate more than 13 hundred houses and 54 administrative buildings of the MP Police Department in the later-half of the day. He will also address seminars on subjects like New Education Policy and role of co-operative in agricultural marketing.
