UGC to explore possibilities of creating positions like Professors of Practice based on industrial experiences: Education Minister in RS

The University Grant Commission is exploring the possibilities of creating positions like Professors of Practice based on their industrial experiences. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, it will be without affecting the sanctioned positions of the University. He added, such provisions already exist in IITs.

He said, National Education Policy 2020 envisages greater collaboration between academia and industries for promoting holistic and multidisciplinary education with a focus on creativity, innovation, and employability.
