UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan passes away, India declares one-day state mourning today
India has declared one-day state mourning today as a mark of respect to the President of United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He passed away yesterday. Ministry of Home Affairs said, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast today across the country on all buildings where the National Flag is flown regularly. There will be no official entertainment.
President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu have expressed grief over the demise of President of UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
In a tweet, the President said, India will always remember Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed’s contribution towards bilateral relations and the welfare of the Indian community in UAE. Mr. Kovind extended his condolences to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed’s family, the UAE government and the people of the UAE.
In a tweet, the Vice President said, he is anguished by the demise of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. Mr. Naidu said, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed was a sagacious leader, who played a pivotal role in accelerating development in the UAE.
