Textiles sector contributing immensely to goal of augmenting exports of Indian goods to foreign markets, says MoS Dr L Murugan

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan said the Centre has approved a mega textile park in Tamil Nadu. He attended the Southern India Mills Association’s texfair expo showcasing textile machineries, accessories and services at Coimbatore, which was inaugurated by Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goel in Coimbatore yesterday. Mr Murugan in his address said the Modi Government has announced innumerable schemes for Tamil Nadu in the last eight years. He said the textiles sector is contributing immensely to the goal of augmenting the exports of Indian goods to foreign markets. He thanked the Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goel for withdrawing customs duty on the import of cotton to help the textiles sector.

The Tamil Nadu Minister for Handlooms and Textiles R.Gandhi appreciated the Centre’s initiatives in promoting the textiles sector including the promotion of handlooms industry. He thanked the allocation of a PM-Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM-MITRA) Park for Tamil Nadu.
