Strong possibility of electoral process starting in J&K by year-end: Rajnath Singh
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said, there is a strong possibility of the electoral process starting in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of this year. Mr Singh was speaking at a function in Jammu yesterday to mark 200 years of the coronation of Maharaja Gulab Singh. The Defence Minister said, Jammu and Kashmir has been fully integrated with the rest of the country and set on the path of renewed growth and development post abrogation of Article 370.
Mr Singh said, Pakistan is unable to digest the fact that India is moving ahead despite challenges and trying to ferment trouble in India, especially Jammu and Kashmir. He said, after the abrogation of Article 370, almost 170 central laws have been implemented in the Union Territory and people are taking the benefits of good governance. The Defence Minister stressed that the government would not allow exodus of any community and no discrimination will be meted out to any community. He further said that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will have an important role in New India.
