Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut to appear before ED in money laundering case today
Shiv Sena leader and Rajyasabha MP Sanjay Raut will appear before ED today afternoon. He said, he respects the summons issued to him and it’s his duty to co-operate with the investigation agencies. He also appeals Shiv Sena workers not to gather at the ED office.
On Tuesday, Enforcement Directorate had issued fresh summons to Raut asking him to appear on July 1 for questioning in a money laundering case. It is linked to the re-development of a Mumbai ‘Patra chawl’ and other related financial transactions involving his wife and friends. Due to official commitments, Raut didnt appear before the ED on Tuesday. Instead his lawyers had met Enforcement Directorate officials in Mumbai and sought 14 days’ time for his appearance. However, the agency only gave him a relief till today.
