Rs 3,343 crore FDI inflow reported in the country since 2014 in defence sector: Rajnath Singh in Parliament

A total of three thousand 343 crore rupees foreign direct investment inflow have been reported in the country since 2014 in the defence sector. This was stated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. The Minister said, a total FDI inflow of about one thousand 382 core rupees was reported during the period of 2001-2014. He added that the government has liberalized the FDI policy in 2020 allowing 74 per cent FDI under automatic route and beyond 74 per cent up to 100 per cent through government route. He said, the step was taken to give more thrust and access to modern technology in the defence sector.
