Revival of Gilsar Khushalsar: No single violation is to be allowed says Commissioner SMC

 A meeting regarding reopening of twin lakes of Gilsar Khushalsar and Sazgari pora Nigeen areas was held on Monday under the Chairmanship of Commissioner SMC/ CEO Smart City in his office chamber here at central office Karan Nagar.

According to a statement issued here, the meeting was attended by SE Drainage, Executive Engineer Drainage,Executive Engineer Drainage Circle, Chief Enforcenment Officer, Zonal Enforcement Officer North, Ward Officers ward no 9, 10, 11, 16 .

President Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation was also present in  the meeting.

At the outset of the meeting various measures to be taken for the revival/ conservation of these water bodies  were disscussed at length.

Besides dredging process, The review of STP’s around Nalahe AmeerKhan , installation of barricades around the lake to avoid any violation or carrying of contructional material in trucks and Tippers was also disscussed at length.

Mr Athar passed clear cut Directions to enforcement wing to be constantly vigilant and make sure that  no encraochment , permanent or temporary structure should come up in these areas.

He also stressed on officers that no earth filling should be allowed in these areas and they should make announcements  or serve notice to the offenders for removal of land filling or any  other violation in  a weeks time else the law shall take its own course.

 It was also disscussed in the meeting that  there is a need of CCTv’s to be installed around the areas of these lakes so that it is ensured that no carrying of constructional material will take place during night hours.

He also laid stress for construction of pedestrians walk way for people to have healthy walk  at the banks of these lakes.
