Republic Day Parade 2022: Uttar Pradesh’s named as best state tableau; Indian Navy’s marching contingent adjudged best among Services

The tableau of Uttar Pradesh was selected as the best state tableau of Republic Day 2022 Parade, the Ministry of Defence announced on Friday. The government said the state of Maharashtra emerged winner in the popular choice category. 

“The tableau of Uttar Pradesh has been selected as the best tableau among the 12 States/UTs which participated in the Republic Day parade on January 26, 2022. The tableau of Uttar Pradesh was based on the theme ‘One District One Product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham’,” a Press Information Bureau release said. 

Karnataka’s tableau was adjudged as the second best. It was based on the theme of ‘Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts’. The third position was bagged by the northeastern state of Meghalaya for its tableau on ‘Meghalaya’s 50 years of Statehood and its tribute to women-led cooperative societies & SHGs’. 

Further, Indian Navy’s marching contingent was chosen as the best among the Services during the Republic Day Parade. The Indian Air Force’s marching contingent was declared winner in the popular choice category, while the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Civil Aviation were declared joint winners among ministries, the MoD stated. 

“The theme of the tableau of Ministry of Education & Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship was ‘National Education Policy’, while the tableau of Ministry of Civil Aviation was based on the theme ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik’. Nine tableaux of Central Ministries/Departments had participated in the parade,” the release said. 

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was named the best marching contingent among Central Armed Police Forces or CAPFs.
