Answering a question about the time-bound solutions to the concerns of the students, Vaishnaw said, now the number of students shortlisted by the government for the final exam, is 20 times the total vacancies, though before 2015 it was just 10 times. This decision was taken with the objective to give more students the opportunities to participate in the selection process.

Railway Ministers told around seven lakh students have been shortlisted against 35 thousand vacancies and many students have been selected for more than one categories. Students have been agitating because the final test for more than one category falls on the same day and this problem could be sorted out very easily. For this, students don’t need to go on rampage. Requesting students he said, the railway is your property, please don’t indulge in rampage.

It is to be noted that Railways has suspended its NTPC and Level 1 exams after candidates went on a rampage in some parts of the country and assured the students of a sensitive solution to their concerns.
