Queen Elizabeth II to be laid to rest at Windsor Castle after State funeral in London tonight

Queen Elizabeth’s coffin has begun its final journey from Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle. King Charles, his sons William and Harry, and other senior royals joined a solemn procession behind Queen Elizabeth’s coffin through the silent streets of London. A funeral service was held at Westminster Abbey – the building in which she was married, and crowned Queen. During his sermon, the Archbishop of Canterbury said the late Queen touched a multitude of lives during her 70-year reign.

He said that she had an “abundant life” and gave “loving service”.

Hundreds of dignitaries were there, including the Queen’s former Prime Ministers as well as US President Biden and French President Macron. Her coffin, draped in flags and topped by the Imperial State Crown, was drawn to the church on a gun carriage by Royal Navy sailors.

President Droupadi Murmu visited Westminster Hall London yesterday where the body of Queen Elizabeth II was lying in state. Ms. Murmu offered tributes to the departed soul on her own behalf and on behalf of the people of India. She also signed the condolence book.

The President attended the reception hosted by King Charles III of the United Kingdom at Buckingham Palace. President Droupadi Murmu met with Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and her sister, Sheikh Rehana just before the commencement of the State Funeral in London.
