Prez Kovind meets Governor-General of Saint Vincent and Grenadines; also signs MoU on Refurbishment of old Calder Community project
During the last leg of his journey to Caribbean nations, President Ramnath Kovind met Governor-General of Saint Vincent and Grenadines Ms Dame Susan Dougan.
The countries signed MoUs on exchange of information and assistance in collection of taxes and on ‘Refurbishment of old Calder Community project’.
President also visited the botanical garden where he planted a sandalwood sapling.
Mr. Kovind addressed the Parliament of Saint Vincent and Grenadines. He said, the need of the hour is reform of global institutions to reflect the contemporary global reality. He noted that on this issue, India and St. Vincent and the Grenadines share common interests, approaches, and understanding.
President also addressed the Indian diaspora of the island nation. During his address, President said that Indian diaspora reflects India’s rich diversity, cultural heritage, and traditions.
AIR correspondent reports that Mr. Kovind expressed his confidence that both the nations will continue to work together in advancing the shared objective of inclusive world order. India and Saint Vincent & Grenadines enjoy friendly and cordial relations. What better can describe the relations between these two nations than the words of these innocent children of Saint Vincent and Grenadines present here to welcome the president, children chanting “we love India”.
