President Ram Nath Kovind to visit Turkmenistan, Netherlands from April 1

President Ram Nath Kovind will pay a week-long State visit to Turkmenistan and the Netherlands from Friday. Briefing media in New Delhi, Secretary (West) in Ministry of External Affairs Sanjay Verma said, this will be the first-ever visit of the President to Turkmenistan.

He said, the visit also comes just after the inauguration of the new President of Turkmenistan. Mr Verma said, during the visit, Mr Kovind will meet the new President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to discuss various issues of bilateral and regional cooperation.

Mr Verma said, the visit to Turkmenistan will be followed by a State Visit of the President to the Netherlands. He said, the visit is significant as during 2022, India and the Netherlands are celebrating 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Secretary said, during the visit, the President will hold discussions with King Willem – Alexander and Queen Maxima and also Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

Mr Verma said, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Ghosh are part of the delegtion.
