President Kovind Urges youth to draw inspiration from examples of serving leprosy affected people, also contribute actively
President Ram Nath Kovind has urged the youth of the country to draw inspiration from examples of serving the leprosy-affected people and also contribute actively. President was addressing the closing ceremony of the Silver Jubilee of Divya Prem Seva Mission in Haridwar today.
The President said that a person suffering from leprosy during and after being cured of the disease should be accepted by the society and family in the same way as a person affected by other diseases is treated. President said that Divya Prem Seva Mission has done a great job in this field. Shri Kovind said that Gandhiji believed that leprosy is also a disease like cholera and plague which can be treated.
Therefore, those who consider its patients as inferior are the real patients. His message is relevant even today. Shri Kovind said that Swami Vivekananda had said, “There is no other religion than service to the soul.
The bondage of the world is easily broken by performing the right rituals of service to religion. He said that the glory of this holy land of Uttarakhand is unique.
By coming to this sacred range of Mother Ganga, they bow down to the incomparable spiritual tradition of India. Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were also present on the occasion.
