President Kovind to undertake 3-day visit to Assam from Feb 25
President Ram Nath Kovind will undertake a 3-day visit to Assam from 25th of this month. He will inaugurate the year-long celebration to mark the 400th birth anniversary of the great Ahom general Lachit Borphukan. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma yesterday said the President will launch the birth anniversary celebration of Borphukan by laying the foundation for the re-development of the general’s memorial in Jorhat.
The President will also lay the foundation for a memorial of the Alaboi Battle at Dodora in Kamrup district. Mr Kovind will attend the convocation of Tezpur University on 26th of February. On the same day, the President will undertake a jeep safari in Kaziranga National Park and also review the conservation and development efforts of the park.
