PM says welfare of entire humanity is linked with India’s progress; addresses Sardar Patel’s statue unveiling event in Canada
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed virtually the Sanatan Mandir Cultural Centre in Ontario, Canada on the occasion of inauguration of Sardar Patel’s statue. He said the statue of Sardar Patel will not only strengthen cultural values but will also become a symbol of the relationship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister said, India does not dream for its own upliftment at the cost of detriment of others. Elaborating on the depth of Indian ethos and values in the diaspora, the Prime Minister said that Indians might live anywhere in the world but their Indianness and loyalty towards the country never diminishes. He said Indians work with full dedication and integrity for the country of their domicile and carry their democratic values and sense of duty with them. He said, India is not only a nation but also an idea and a culture. He stated that India is that higher-level thought that talks of ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’.
Mr Modi said that Sanatan Mandir in Canada or in any other country enriches the values of that country also. He expressed a belief that the celebration of the Amrit Mahotsav of India’s independence will give an opportunity for the people of Canada to understand India more closely. The Prime Minister said, India’s Amrit pledges are spreading globally and connecting the world.
