PM Modi says he looks forward to exchanging views on topical, regional and international issues at SCO meet

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has said he looks forward to exchanging views on topical, regional and international issues, the expansion of SCO and on further deepening of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation within the SCO.

In his departure statement ahead of his visit to Uzbekistan to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, Mr. Modi said, under the Uzbek Chairship, a number of decisions for mutual cooperation are likely to be adopted in areas of trade, economy, culture and tourism.

He added that he also looks forward to meeting Uzbekistan President  Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Samarkand.  The Prime Minister also recalled  President Mirziyoyev’s  visit to India in 2018. 

Mr. Modi said, he will also hold bilateral meetings with some of the other Leaders attending the Summit.
