PM Modi meets Sikh delegation in New Delhi; Says Sikh community strengthens bond between India, other countries
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met a Sikh delegation at his residence in New Delhi yesterday evening. Addressing the delegation, the Prime Minister lauded the role and efforts of the Sikh community in the development of the country. Mr Modi said, the community has played a vital role in strengthening the bond between India and other countries.Remembering the contributions made by Sikh Gurus, the Prime Minister said, they have taught courage and instilled the spirit of service among the people.Mr Modi said, Guru Nanak Dev ji awakened the consciousness of the entire nation and brought the entire nation out of darkness by showing the path of light. Prime Minister said, Sikh tradition is actually a living tradition of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.Mr Modi highlighted the various initiatives taken by the government for connecting the pilgrimages of Sikh tradition with better infrastructure. He said, today, lakh of devotees are getting the privilege of paying obeisance at the Gurdwaras linked by Kartarpur Sahib Corridor.Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and other dignitaries were also present there. The group included people from different walks of life.On this occasion, CEO of Sony Pictures NP Singh said, Prime Minister always inspires the people.President of Punjab Sahitya Academy Dr. Sarabjit Kaur said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several steps for the Sikh community. |
