PM Modi has given highest priority to North-east India ever since he became PM in 2014: Dr. Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given highest priority to North-east India ever since he became the Prime Minister in 2014. Dr. Singh said that earlier the region was in news for wrong reasons, but in these 8 years, it has seen a huge positive transformation.

Dr. Singh said this after inaugurating the two-day regional conference on ‘Bringing Citizens and Government Closer – Through Administrative Reforms’ by Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh today. The Union Minister said that the objective of the Regional Conference is to familiarize officers with best governance practices. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India adopted the ‘Minimum Government Maximum Governance’ model.

The two-day Regional Conference will conclude tomorrow and will have 5 technical sessions with Reforms in Governance, Public Grievances Redressal and e-Office in N.E. States, Good Governance Practices in North Eastern States, District Good Governance index and Good Governance Practices. On the occasion, a MoU was also signed between the Arunachal Pradesh government and the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances for conducting Mid-Career Building Programs in Governance for 500 officers of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh Administrative Services over the next 5 years. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein were also present on the occasion.
