PM exhorts civil servants to learn from seniors & keep ‘Nation First’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an inspiring address to the civil servants of the country, reminding them to always keep the ‘Nation First’ in their thinking.
The theme for Civil Services Day 2022 is “Vision India@2047 – Bringing Citizens and Government closer”.
In line with this vision, PM Modi stressed on 3 goals. “Bring Ease of Living to each and every citizen of the country. Draft new governance models with the goal of making India the best country in the world. Maintain the harmony and integrity of the nation with the underlying mantra of ‘Nation First’,” he enumerated.
PM Modi conferred the Prime Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration.
He suggested all the training academies to virtually share the process and experiences of the award winners on a weekly basis. He also suggested that one among the award-winning projects may be chosen for implementation among few districts, and the experience of the same may be discussed in next year’s Civil Service Day.
“Speak to the former officers who served the district you are currently deployed in, take their sage counsel. In this way, you will not only honour their services but will also be able to take inspiration from them,” he reminded the civil servants at the meeting.
“It is important to know global problems & focus on playing a leadership role in solving them. When you try to proactively learn from people, you will always find something new to adapt in your life,” he added.
Pointing out the difference between a typist and sitar player, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to live a life of vigour that does not compromise on innovation.
