Petroleum & Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri asserts govt taking all steps to make India energy Independent by 2047

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri today said the government is taking all steps to make India energy Independent by 2047. 

Addressing a press conference after inaugurating the 25th Energy Technology Meet in Mumbai, he said that food, fertilizer, and fuel were the sectors, India recently faced difficulties due to instability in some parts of the world but the country successfully navigated over it with confidence.  

Underlining the effective steps of the government for clean energy, he said that hydrogen blending up to 10 percent, which was targetted for the end of this year has already been achieved, and the government is confident that 20 percent blending would be achieved by 2023.

Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Department, Rameshwar Teli said that by 2030, the government will be setting up 18,000 new CNG stations and by the same period one thousand LNG stations would also be set up. He said that the government is giving a push for change and the result is very positive.

The chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee on Hydrocarbon of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dr. Anil Kakodkar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a dynamic shift in the energy sector when we complete a hundred years of independence is much appreciated. 

He said that we are in the midst of the energy transition phase and a major shift from the source of energy is clearly visible now.
