No proposal to offer export subsidies for pulse traders: Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Lok Sabha

The Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Piyush Goyal today made it clear that there is no proposal to offer export subsidies for pulse traders. Informing to the Lok Sabha the minister said the government has put Tur and Urad under the free category till March 31st next year.

In a written reply, the Minister said the government has taken the decision after carefully analyzing production, availability, prices and market conditions of pulses to protect the interests of farmers and consumers. The Minister further said the government takes measures from time to time while taking into consideration the price trends to ensure the domestic availability. He added that measures to assure subsidized prices of essential food commodities are also being taken to make them accessible to consumers.
