Nine states withdraw general consent to CBI to investigate cases, says Jitendra Singh
Nine states have withdrawn general consent to the CBI to investigate cases. They include West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala and Punjab. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh said, a total of 173 requests of CBI are pending with these States. He said, a maximum of 132 requests of CBI are pending consent in Maharashtra only. He said, permissions have been granted in 101 CBI cases by nine states from 2019 to February this year.
