Navy Chief Hari Kumar confers gallantry and distinguished service awards to naval personnel in Kochi
The Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar said that the country aims to achieve regional maritime security through respect, dialogue, cooperation, peace, and prosperity.
He was speaking after conferring the gallantry and distinguished service awards to the naval personnel at the Investiture ceremony held at the Naval Base in Kochi this morning.
He said that as the Navy continues to expand its operational footprint to preserve and protect the country’s national maritime interests, it is the unwavering professionalism and never-say-die spirit of the naval personnel that ensures success.
The Chief of Naval Staff observed that the Navy is fully committed to adopting cutting-edge technology, joint manship, optimization of resources, and integration.
The awards and medals given away today were declared by the President of India on Republic Day.
34 awards were presented to the naval personnel including Nao Sena medals for Gallantry, Nao Sena medals for Devotion to Duty, and Vishisht Seva medals, besides Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, the CNS Trophy for the best Green Practice, and unit citations
