Mumbai’s new rules amid Omicron scare: People in home quarantine to get call 5 times a day – Check details

Amid the Omicron scare, the Mumbai civic body has issued a set of guidelines to ensure proper monitoring and supervision of international travellers arriving in the city and those who are in the home quarantine.

Seven-day home quarantine is mandatory for international passengers from at-risk nations.

As per the rules, Mumbai’s “ward war room”, or WWR teams will dial all the passengers throughout their home quarantine at least five times a day, to monitor their health status. The teams will monitor whether those who are in home quarantine are adhering to the guidelines.

A software will segregate passengers as per their addresses into 24 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, or MCGM for tracking of all such passengers under home quarantine. The disaster management unit will ensure distribution of the list of addresses to all the 24 “ward war rooms”, or WWR, and field medical officers.

The WWRs will call all the passengers under home quarantine and inform them to remain under seven-day home quarantine. They will provide passengers with information on COVID-19 protocols and counsel them on their concerns.

WWR will regularly send their medical teams with ambulances to check whether the said passengers are complying with home quarantine protocols.
