Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC alongwith Sh. Surinder Singh Choudhary Councillor of ward no. 29 today on 16/09/2021 conducted an extensive tour of Shakti Nagar, Rajpura & its adjoining localities met with the locals & also kick started the construction/renovation work of drains from M/s Suri Jewellers towards Pandit Keshav Nath’s residence at Rajpura Mangotrian Jammu. Sh. Ashok Jogi, Sh. Som Nath, Sh. Sachin Kumar. Sh. Suresh Gupta, Sh. Pawan Sharma, Sh. Pardeep Sharma, Sh. Kewel Verma, Sh. Suresh Verma, Sh. Kiran Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of the locality as well as Sh. Mukesh Kumar Junior Engineer alongwith other supervisory staff of Engineering Division II were also remained present there during the function. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that it was the long pending demands of the locals which has now been fulfilled today by starting the much awaited construction work of drains which will also be properly covered by iron gratings/cemented slab at suitable spots so that the Safaikarmcharis can disilt it easily on routine basis and there remains no scope of water stagnation & blockage. He further told that this development work has been taken up today with an allotted amount of Rs.4. 67 lacs. only and directed the concerned Engineers to personally monitor the work & also check its quality in consultation with the locals & ensure that it may be completed within the stipulated time period. Moreover with the sincere efforts of the concerned Councillor on the ward, the work of the prestigious project of development of a well furnished walkway with sufficient Green Spaces alongside of Canal at Shakti Nagar Jammu is going on smoothly with an estimate cost of Rs. One Crore Thirty Lakh only and it will be completed shortly which will provide much benefit especially to the Senior citizens, females, children who find it difficult to cross the traffic prone road & go for morning/ evening walk on the other side. Mayor also appeal to the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied agencies in all the development activities being undertaken in various parts of the city so that Jammu can be made really a Smart City.
