Mamata Banerjee on a three-day visit to Mumbai from today
Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee will be on a three-day visit to Mumbai from November 30. During her Maharashtra visit, Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to meet Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar. Her meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is unlikely to take place as Thackeray is currently recovering from a health condition.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut confirmed that Banerjee will instead be meeting Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aditya Thackeray at 8 pm on Tuesday. “I will also join the meeting,” he said.
During her Mumbai visit, the West Bengal Chief Minister is also expected to hold meetings with industrialists and businessmen and extend an invitation to them for the Bengal Global Business Summit, to be held in April next year.
“Mamata Banerjee will be on a three-day visit to Mumbai from tomorrow. She will hold meetings with NCP supremo Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The CM also aims to attract investments to the state,” a TMC leader was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Mamata meets PM, snubs Sonia Gandhi during Delhi visit
Last week, Mamata Banerjee visited New Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She, however, skipped a speculated meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi due to the changed equations between the TMC and the Congress party. Several Congress leaders have quit the grand old party and joined the TMC, triggering a cold war between the top leadership of the two parties.
