LS Speaker Om Birla inspects Parliament House Complex ahead of Budget Session

Ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament which is to begin from 31st of January, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, inspected various facilities in Parliament House Complex on Friday. Mr Birla inspected the Lok Sabha Chamber, Central Hall and several other facilities in Parliament House complex. During his inspection, the Speaker issued instructions to ensure safety of the Members, Officials and Media during the Session keeping in view the necessary COVID guidelines. He was also apprised about the implementation of the COVID protocol norms Mr Birla was also briefed about the progress of the construction of the New Parliament Building (NPB) by the concerned officials. He gave several inputs to ensure world class landscaping around the New Parliament Building. The Speaker also enquired about the building materials and architectural highlights of the building.

The Speaker directed the officers to ensure that the maintenance of Parliament House should be taken up regularly and the facilities should be improved with the use of the latest technology. He directed the officials to undertake adequate safety measures for Members in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Chambers.

During his inspection, Mr Birla also asked to ensure better facilities and maximum cleanliness in the Media Stands, Lobbies and Central Hall.
