Large number of girl cadets participated NCC rally, this is the change India is witnessing: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, took note of the significant participation of women cadets in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) parade and pitched for the induction of more women cadets in the NCC. He also highlighted the steps taken by the government to empower NCC and added that over one lakh cadets have been added in border areas in the last two years.

“I am proud that I was also an active member of NCC. Our government is taking several steps to strengthen NCC. A large number of girl cadets participated in the rally, this is the change India is witnessing today,” PM Modi said at the NCC rally in Delhi.

Addressing the NCC cadets at the Cariappa Ground in Delhi, PM Narendra Modi said that the NCC cadets are the ‘heroes’ of the present times and urged them to adopt a ‘vocal-for-local’ approach. “Be vocal for local. Promote everything that is made by local manufacturers,” PM Modi said.

In PM’s NCC event attire, speech a subtle hint of Punjab

Wearing a turban, notably ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, PM Modi urged the NCC cadets to fight the drug menace in colleges and educational institutions.

“We all need to connect with the roots of India. We can change India’s future with your determination and support. Drug addiction destroys the life of youngsters, we need to fight against this,” he said. Interestingly, even at the Republic Day parade, PM Narendra Modi donned a cap with Brahmakamal from Uttarakhand and Manipur’s leirum phee stole.

Both the states go to polls in February-March along with Punjab. It may also be noted that the drug menace, one of the problems PM touched upon in his NCC address, remains a significant poll issue in Punjab.
