Lakhimpur Kheri violence updates: FIR against 11 including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for ‘disturbing peace’.

Two days after eight people, including four farmers were killed in violent clashes in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri, section 144 remained imposed in the area, even as political parties and farmer unions continued to stage protest against the incident across the country.

Earlier on Tuesday, an FIR was registered against Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and 10 others for disturbing the peace in the area. Gandhi took to Twitter and hit out at PM Narendra Modi asking why he was not paying a visit to Lakhimpur Kheri. Congress members also protested in Sitapur demanding Priyanka Gandhi’s release. Other opposition parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanded strict action against those responsible for the violence.
