Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat stresses on turning river rejuvenation into mass movement
Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has stressed the need for turnig the rejuvenation of rivers into a mass movement.
Addressing the ‘Yamuna Par Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ event in New Delhi today, he said, the government has taken various steps to clean and rejuvenate all rivers, but public participation towards this cause will play the most crucial role.
Mr Shekhawat said, India on one hand is known for worshiping its rivers, but on the other hand, it is one of the countries with the most contaminated sources of fresh water. He said there is a need to unify these two opposite poles to clean all rivers.
