India witnesses massive COVID surge: Over 1 lakh coronavirus fresh cases reported; Omicron tally over 3,000
- India’s total tally of COVID-19 cases increased to 3,52,26,386
- The coronavirus death toll climbed to 4,83,178 with 302 fresh fatalities
- The national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 97.57 per cent
New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday announced that India recorded 1,17,100 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The active cases in the country have increased to 3,71,633. The active infections account for less than 1 per cent of total cases, which is currently at 1.05 per cent, the MoHFW said.
The COVID death count has increased to 48,3178, the 8 am data released by the health ministry stated.
The country registered 30,836 recoveries in the last 24 hours increases, taking the total recoveries to 3,43,71,845. The national recovery rate stands at 97.57 per cent.
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 1,49,66,81,156.
The Union health ministry informed that the daily positivity rate was recorded at 7.74 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 4.54 per cent.
