India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise- ‘Dustlik’ commences with impressive ceremony
With the focus on counter-terrorism operations, the third edition of India-Uzbekistan Joint Military Exercise- ‘Dustlik’ commenced with an impressive opening ceremony at Yangiarik, Uzbekistan today.
The ceremony was marked by the unfurling of national flags of both countries followed by their national anthems.
The joint Indo-Uzbekistan would focus on counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban terrain. The military exercise will focus primarily on sharing tactical level drills and learning best practices from each other. The combat drill aims at enhancing understanding, cooperation, and interoperability between two armies. The exercise will continue till March 31.
The Indian Army contingent landed at Yangiarik, Uzbekistan on 23rd March to participate in the 3rd edition of the biennial military training exercise.
2nd edition of DUSTLIK
The 2nd edition of India – Uzbekistan joint military exercise “DUSTLIK ” commenced on 10the March at Foreign Training Node Chaubatia, Ranikhet (Uttarakhand).
45 Soldiers each from the Indian Army and Uzbekistan Army participated in the exercise, sharing their expertise and skills in the field of counter-terrorism operations in mountainous/rural/urban scenarios under UN mandate.
The military exercise continued till 19th March 2021. The first edition of the exercise was held in Uzbekistan in Nov 2019.
