India logs 2,58,089 COVID cases, positivity rate at 119.65 per cent; Omicron tally at 8,209

India registered 2,58,089 fresh COVID cases, 13,113 less than yesterday, the Union health ministry of health and family welfare said on Monday. The death toll surge to 4,86,451 as and 385 coronavirus patients succumbed in the last 24 hours.

The Omicron tally has reached 8,209 in the country.

Wih the addition of the fresh coronavirus cases, India’s Active caseload currently stands at 16,56,341, the health ministry informed.

As per the latest bulletin of the MohFW, 1,51,740 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,52,37,461.

The daily positivity rate was recorded a 19.65 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 14.41 per cent.

The COVID bulletin informed that the country’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 157.20 croes.

With the administration of more than 39 lakh Doses (39,46,348) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 157.20 Cr (1,57,20,41,825) as per provisional reports till 7 am today, the health ministry stated.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 13,13,444 COVID tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 70.37 crore (70,37,62,282) cumulative tests.
