I&B Minister Anurag says govt has taken action against several Youtube channels involved in spreading fake news

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, the government has taken action against several Youtube channels which were involved in spreading fake news. Replying to supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Thakur said, his Ministry has blocked 94 Youtube channels, 19 social media accounts and 747 URLs.

Raising questions over the Opposition protest in Parliament, Mr. Thakur accused the Opposition of spreading misinformation about GST hike, Agnipath Scheme and COVID vaccination. He wondered why the Opposition-ruled states did not raise objections on the GST hike in the GST Council Meeting. He also alleged that misinformation was spread about the Agnipath Scheme.
