Gujarat: PM Modi lays foundation stone of multiple development projects at Banas Dairy Sankul at Diyodar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects at Banas Dairy Sankul at Diyodar in Banaskantha district of north Gujarat. He dedicated to the nation a New Dairy Complex and Potato Processing Plant at Diyodar built at a cost of over 600 crore rupees. The New Dairy Complex is a green-field project. It will enable the processing of about 30 lakh litres of milk, produce about 80 tonnes of butter, one lakh litres of ice cream, 20 tonnes of condensed milk -Khoya, and six tonnes of chocolate on a daily basis.
The Potato Processing Plant will produce different types of processed potato products like french fries, potato chips, aloo Tikki and patties many of which will be exported to several countries. These plants will empower the local farmers and give a boost to the rural economy in the region.
The Prime Minister also dedicated the Banas Community Radio Station. This Community Radio Station has been set up to provide key scientific information related to agriculture and animal husbandry to the farmers. It will connect over five lakh farmers of about 1,700 villages. Mr. Modi also dedicated the expanded facilities for the production of cheese products and whey powder at the Banas Dairy Plant in Palanpur.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Organic Manure and Biogas Plant established at Dama. He laid the foundation stone for four Gobar Gas Plants of 100 tonnes capacity to be established at Khimana, Ratanpura – Bhildi, Radhanpur, and Thawar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that Banas Dairy has become a hub for empowering local communities, particularly farmers and women during the last several years. Speaking after dedicating to the nation and laying the foundation stone of multiple development projects at Banas Dairy Sankul at Diyodar in Banaskantha district of Gujarat, Mr Modi said that innovative zeal has been seen in the various products of the dairy. He also lauded Banas dairy’s focus on honey production. Mr. Modi said that his government is constantly working for the welfare of small farmers.
Mr. Modi said that various modern plants inaugurated and dedicated here are the best example of creating a strong future through our traditional strengths. He said, various products of Banas dairy also help to launch our local products at the international level. He said, our rural economy is getting strength through the cooperative sector which will also help in fulfilling our resolution of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
The Prime Minister congratulated the people of Banaskantha for their hard work and spirit of resilience. He said that this district has made a mark in agriculture by adopting new technologies and water conservation which is commendable. Mr. Modi also recalled his previous visit and expressed his happiness over the progress made by the Banas dairy.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Rajya Sabha MP C.R. Patil, and Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhari also spoke on this occasion.
