Govt provides over 17 crore 90 lakh Ayushman cards to beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY
The government has provided more than 17 crore 90 lakh Ayushman cards to the beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharti Pawar said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha yesterday.
The scheme which is the world’s largest health care programme, provides a health cover of five lakh rupees annually to vulnerable families and aims at benefiting more than ten crore poor families all over the country.
Over three crore 28 lakh people have availed treatment under the scheme.
She said, Odisha and Delhi have not joined the scheme, while West Bengal withdrew from the scheme in January, 2019. Dr. Pawar said, the scheme has successfully contributed in reducing out-of-pocket expenditure in the country.
