Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chairs a review meeting of financial institutions & Public Sector banks in New Delhi

Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today chaired a review meeting of the financial institutions and Public Sector banks in New Delhi. The Minister reviewed the measures taken by financial institutions and banks in providing credit to persons belonging to the Scheduled Caste community.

During the meeting, Nirmala Sitharaman directed the banks to fill the backlog vacancies in a time-bound manner. She also advised the banks to look into the needs of the Scheduled Caste community for their capacity building and entrepreneurship development. It has also been decided that redressal of all pending grievances related to SC community may be taken up in the special drive. The Finance Minister said, the objective of the meeting was to bring all stakeholders on a common platform to work together for the upliftment of people belonging to the Scheduled Castes community.
