Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav has stressed on the need to realise the goals of low carbon industry transitions through a multi-pronged approach cutting across sectors. He said this while attending the Policy Dialogue: Enabling State Level Strategic Actions to Achieve India’s Nationally Determined Contribution in New Delhi. Mr Yadav underlined that the low carbon development strategy as enunciated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panchamrit Strategy highlights the need to decouple the development process from environmental degradation. He said the clean energy transition in India is already well underway. The Minister added that globally, India is ranked fourth in terms of installed renewable energy capacity, with non-fossil fuel energy increasing by over 25 percent in the last seven years. |
