EAM S. Jaishankar meeting with German counterpart Annalena Baerbock underway in New Delhi
A meeting between External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and Federal Foreign Affairs Minister of Germany Annalena Baerbock is underway in New Delhi.
The German Minister Annalena Baerbock reached New Delhi this morning, December 5, on her two days official visit. On her arrival, the External Affairs Ministry said, this is an opportunity to exchange views on regional and global developments and review the progress achieved in the India-Germany Strategic Partnership.
Ahead of her visit, Annalena Baerbock said, she will sign a mobility agreement in Delhi that will make it easier for people to study, research and work in India and Germany. She said, she is visiting India just days after India took over the presidency of G20 and her talks will therefore focus on the climate crisis and maintaining rule based international order.
German Foreign Minister appreciated India’s role in helping G20 in taking a clearer position against the Russia-Ukraine conflict saying that India showed that it is ready to play its role globally. She said, India will have a decisive influence on shaping the international order in the 21st century in the Indo-Pacific region.
