Biden signs executive order to prohibit trade, investment in Ukraine breakaway regions
US President Joe Biden signed an executive order to prohibit trade and investment between US individuals and the two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine recognized as independent by Russia.
This Executive Order will prohibit all new investment, trade, and financing by US including the importation into the United States, directly or indirectly, of any goods, services, or technology from the covered regions. The Prohibition order was signed by Biden saying that, Russia’s commitments under the Minsk agreements further threatens the peace, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and thereby constitutes an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.
