Technology received well in rural India and women are now more digitally literate: Smriti Irani

Union Minister Smriti Irani said technology has been well received in rural India and women are now more digitally literate. Speaking at a virtual seminar ‘Women and Digital Economy: Atmanirbhar Nari, Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the Minister said the way technology has been embraced, shows the visionary mindset of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She cautioned women to not presume business that is not done in the service of mankind or womankind but for profit. She added that UPI created history in the country and said COVID has accelerated opportunities regarding this.

The Minister said nations who have not looked after small businesses have committed a grave financial error. She said growth is truly holistic when every segment benefits from it.
