Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Sh. Sat Pal Karlupia Councillor of ward no. 32 inaugurated Tanga Stand comprising of a well furnished shed, store and rest room near Gole Panjpeer area of ward no. 32. Sh. Anil Kumar Gupta Executive Engineer, Sh. Raman Kapahi Assistant Executive Engineer, Sh. Ishan Verma Junior Engineer & other Supervisory Staff of Project Division JMC as well as Madan Lal Booth President, Sh. Lovkesh Gondhi, I.T Parbari, president alongwith other members of Horse Cart (Ghoda Gaadee) Union were also remained present during the function. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that large numbers of persons are doing this traditional work of Ghoda Gaadee from the last so many decades and earning their livelihood through this old age work. He further told that they have suffered a lot due to continuous shifting of Tanga Stand earlier from canal head to extension Bhagwati Nagar near Gole & due to road widening by PWD, it has now been reshifted at this particular site with all types of facilities and with an allotted amount of Rs. 17.50 lacs only so that the large number of poor families associated with this trade may not suffer any more due to dislocation. He further added that Govt. is committed to provide necessary financial assistance to the daily earners like street vendors & other such persons under PM Svanidhi Scheme and announced that he will try his best to include this particular traditional trade of Ghoda Gaadee ( Horse Cart) as heritage one and revive it to ply on the city roads like in earlier days which will also help in promoting tourism in Jammu City. President of Tanga Stand Union extended lot of gratitude to the Mayor & his team for taking keen interest in their long pending issues.
