Mandaviya urges chemicals & petrochemicals sector to be part of PM’s ‘Make in India’ vision by helping country transform into global manufacturing hub

Chemicals and Fertilizers minister Mansukh Mandaviya has urged the chemicals and petrochemicals sector to be a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision by helping the country transform into a global manufacturing hub.

Speaking at the third meeting of Chemicals and Petrochemicals Advisory Forum in New Delhi, Dr Mandaviya stressed on creating India’s own futuristic strategy and decision making model to meet the emerging global demands of aligned industries.

He also urged the industry and academia to partner in Research and Development which can address the domestic requirements of niche sectors such as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for chemicals.

Expressing confidence that India has the capacity to rise to the challenges, the Minister said there is a need for a strategy focused on outcomes. Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers, Bhagwanth Khuba was also present at the event.
