PM Modi meets Deputy PM and FM of Singapore in New Delhi; discusses ways to boost bilateral ties between both countries
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong and Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong in New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was also present during the meeting.
The leaders discussed ways to boost bilateral ties between India and Singapore, especially in emerging sectors like digital connectivity, green hydrogen, and Fintech. In a tweet, Mr. Lawrence Wong said, he along with Minister Gan Kim Yong were honoured to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr. Wong said, they had excellent discussions on new areas of cooperation such as green hydrogen, solar energy, fintech, and data links. He said, India is an important strategic partner of Singapore across many sectors. He expressed happiness that the pace of bilateral engagements has picked up substantially as the pandemic subsides.
