Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to start 3-day visit to Nagaland

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be on a three day visit to Nagaland from today. She will attend the Nagaland Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Investment Conclave at Kohima scheduled to begin this evening. The Union Finance Minister will address the inaugural session of the Conclave at 4 PM and thereafter inaugurates the exhibition stall. She will have a special session with CEOs and CSOs attending the conclave.

The next day, Ms. Sitharaman is scheduled to visit Mon district and dedicate Axis bank branch at Mon along with a virtual dedication of the Axis bank branches at Demow, Sibasagar in Assam, Gohpur Biswanath Assam and Madanrting East Khasi Hill in Meghalaya. On the same day, the Finance Minister will attend the Credit Outreach Programme at Kohima and will launch new schemes and projects of NABARD, Nagaland Rural Bank and Nagaland state Cooperative Bank. Sitharaman along with Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will also jointly launch the CM’s Micro Finance initiative.

The Finance Minister will also witness the exchange of MoU between SIDBI and Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN). Later in the evening, Ms. Sitharaman will visit Dr. Neilhouzhü Kire Government Higher Secondary School Seikhazou Kohima. On the last leg of her visit, the Union Finance Minister will have a closed door interaction with the Nagaland business community at the Rhododendron Hall Police Officer’s Mess in Choumukedima district from 9:30 AM following  a media interaction will take place at 10:40 AM.  

Ms. Sitharaman will also visit the Heirloom Naga and tour the centre as well as witness a live demonstration of traditional weaving and handicrafts. Later, she will visit the District Hospital Dimapur and inaugurate the Dialysis centre which is a collaborative CSR project Nagaland Health Department, Boeing India and Doctors for You, facilitated by IDAN. Thereafter, the Finance Minister will depart for  Delhi.
