2nd Sept is a landmark day for India’s efforts to become Aatmanirbhar in defence sector: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said he will visit the dynamic city of Kochi and address a public meeting.

In a series of tweets, Mr Modi said he will visit Sri Adi Shankara Janma Bhoomi Kshetram at Kalady village in the evening and inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of metro and rail-related works in Kochi.

He stated that 2nd September is a landmark day for India’s efforts to become Aatmanirbhar in the defence sector. He said the first indigenously designed and built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant will be commissioned tomorrow and the new Naval Ensign (Nishaan) will also be unveiled.

The Prime Minister said he looks forward to being among the people of Mangaluru. He said key projects worth 3,800 crore rupees will be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These important works are related to mechanisation and industrialisation.
